VAT
The VAT (Value Added Tax) is only relevant for EU citizens. Third member state citizens are not charged the VAT.The Czech VAT amounts to 19% of the price of the goods/services. You will always be charged the VAT if buying a vehicle as a private person. This is due to the following reasons:
- you always need an exportation permit for a military vehicle;
- only a company (not a physical person) may obtain it;
- whenever a company sells good for private use, the state will charge you the VAT; thus, even if the vehicle comes originally from private hands and comes to your private hands, you will still be charged the VAT.
What we can mostly recommend is a company sale to a company who are a registered tax payer or a sale to a registered business-person. If sold for business purposes, no VAT is charged.
The situation is identical as regards the transportation.
