UAZ-452 military vans now available: MORTAR INVESTMENTS overhaul dozens of UAZ-452 vehicles every year. The presented photographs show some of the vehicles finished recently. All our vehicles meet German DEKRA Old-Timer standards. Please write to us in order to get the most recent stock. Please be informed that the workshop might be booked for few weeks in advance. One UAZ-452 bus  takes about 6 weeks to be finished. 

Origin of the UAZ-452 vehicles: the UAZ-452 we sell come either from private individuals of from the army. In such a case we only choose the vehicles the least driven possible. As we perform the overhaul by ourselves, it is in our own interest to pick the least rusted vehicles available.


Please note:  even though we do as hard as we can, these cars are mostly 30 years old or more. There will always be some issues to solve. If you wish to come and pick your UAZ by yourself and drive it back, always bring some basic tools with please. Also, there are some particularities of the UAZ you shall progressively get acquainted with before you start driving at long distance. For your self-organised transport we can assure 4-days German transit plates (valid in all EU) for EUR 150 without tax.  


Basic pricing for overhauled UAZ-452:

  • DEKRA-ready, fully overhauled vehicle, equipped good seats (driver and co-pilot), newly painted: from EUR 5.500.
  • vehicles not repaired: from EUR 2.600.
  • Brand new ceiling + walls (as on the pictures) EUR 1.400.
  • Rear seats: EUR 250 per 3 seats.
  • Roof rack: EUR 800. 
  • Field-bed EUR 180.
  • Please note that you will need new tyres, too, in most of the cases. All prices without VAT (which might not apply.)
Not repaired UAZ-452 vehicles available from EUR 3.000.

Registration: Principally, there are no documents available to the vehicles. This poses no problem to a successful UK road registration.

How do we spend the average 250 working hours on one UAZ-452 vehicle?

First, engine and windows removed, the whole vehicle is sand-blasted.

Normally, there is no need to take the body down. The works on the chassis continue on the heaver.

The chassis is welded where necessary and covered with a unti-rust mean (Body 930). The fuel tanks are welded and sealed and new fuel sensors intalled.

Brakes are brushed in the inside, drums polished. All brake cylinders in the wheels are changed for new. The air is released. Later, the clutch and brake cylinders are given new gasket sets.

Brake hoses, both in rubber and in copper are changed for new.

Now all the cutting, welding and puttying  begins.

Then the filler comes.

After some some kilograms of putty, the basic paint comes. Brushing and more putty. Then, finally, it is double painted green.

 Meanwhile, the engine works proceed.  The compression-ratio is checked. All gaskets are changed. Valves brushed. Piston rings changed. Head polished. Cylinders brushed. Same for the pumps and the carburetor. The engine is cleaned and painted. The gearboxes and the clutch are checked and fine-tuned. All fillings are changed.

Finally, from bellow, the engine can be installed.

The engine electricity in is completely changed. Mostly, a new alternator is given. Generally, the whole electric system of the UAZ-452 vehicle has to be exchanged.

Brand new tyres - road or heavy duty model - are installed.

Eventually, a new, complete inside canvas can be installed.

Importing a UAZ-452 into USA


The cheapest way of transport is having shipped two vehicles at a time in a 40'' container. Generally, you should count with shipping costs of about 2.500 USD. The duty is 2.5%. You will need to fill in a EPA 3520 form and a DOT HS-7 form. The vehicles, as aged above 25 years, are exempt form standard Environmental Protection Agency andDepartment of Transportation pollution and safety requirements. All you need is the VIN Number and the original registration document.

History: the light terrain vehicle UAZ 452 is a direct follower of GAZ-69. It is based on the under-cart of GAZ-69M. Produced between 1965 and 1987. The production continues under the "UAZ-2206" denotation.
